1. Purpose

 

South SLO County Womenade (SSLOCW) is committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment for our community, volunteers, and agency partners. We believe that our efforts to support individuals and families in need are strengthened by embracing diversity and ensuring that every person feels valued and respected.

 

2. Scope

 

This policy applies to SSLOCW, including volunteers, agency partners, and community partners.

 

3. Policy Statement

 

South SLO County Womenade is dedicated to:

 

- Diversity: Recognizing and valuing the differences among individuals, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, socioeconomic status, and cultural background.

- Equity: Ensuring fair treatment, opportunities, and advancement for all people, while striving to identify and eliminate barriers that have historically led to unequal treatment.

- Inclusion: Creating an environment where all individuals feel welcomed, respected, and able to fully participate in our programs and services.

 

4. Implementation

 

- Program Delivery: Our programs are designed and implemented with consideration of the diverse needs of the communities we serve. 

- Partnerships and Collaboration: SSLOCW partners with organizations and individuals who share our commitment to DEI and work collaboratively to address disparities and promote inclusivity.

 

5. Accountability

 

- Reporting and Addressing Concerns: Any concerns or complaints related to DEI issues should be reported to the SSLOCW board of directors. We are committed to addressing such concerns promptly and fairly.

 

6. Commitment to Continuous Improvement

 

SSLOCW acknowledges that DEI is an ongoing journey. We are committed to continuously learning, evolving, and improving our practices to better serve our community and uphold the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
