Here's the scoop! Here comes 2023!

January 5, 2023 Newsletter

2023 HERE WE COME! AND WE’RE OFF!

SO GRATEFUL TO 100+ WOMEN WHO CARE! AMAZING!

In October we were concerned because donations were down, and there is still so much need to fulfill in South SLO County. Then one of our Womenaders nominated us to be a recipient of the 100+ Women Who Care SLO organization. We made it to the final three nominees and were voted the eventual final recipient! They were founded in 2008 with a mission to have a positive effect on San Luis Obispo County through direct donations to local non-profit organizations. They have grown from 25 members to about 150 women.

Their very generous donation and your donations to earn the matching grant at the end of the year put us in a great position to start off 2023 running! Thank you 100+ Women Who Care SLO!

POTLUCKS

January 17, 2023 at 6PM will be our first potluck of 2023, and it’s just around the corner. We are very excited to be getting together after a 3 month break. Candace Guldeman has graciously offered to host the first one of the year at her home at 524 Mesa View Drive on the mesa in Arroyo Grande. The Evite has been sent. If you didn’t receive one please email us sslocwomenade@gmail.com and let us know you want to attend. Please bring a friend, spread the word and introduce us to new people! Bring a dish to share, your place setting, a beverage and a donation for $50 (of course more is always greatly appreciated!).

If you would like to host a potluck fundraiser for us, please email us at sslocwomenade@gmail.com. These are our main methods of fundraising and would like to have between 10 and 12 potlucks a year in our regular areas and new areas

to introduce our work to new networks and neighborhoods.

April Potluck – Ann McDowell is hosting an April Potluck with the now annual Admin April request and the annual raffle. We keep our expenses to a minimum with the bulk expenses being for insurance and accounting software – both absolute necessities for a non-profit. None of us are paid. We are looking for raffle prizes. Now is the time to review some of the wonderful Christmas/Hanukkah gifts you received but wondered what you would do with them. You can donate them as raffle prizes to us. Of course if you have experiences you can donate (our sources tell us that people are more interested in these than things) we would love those. Contact us at sslocwomenade@gmail.com.
