You Made a Big Difference in 2024
In 2024 we held eight potluck fundraisers hosted by: Lynn Heinrich (February), Lopez High School (March)l, Ann McDowell (April), Womenade at Cypress Ridge (June), Karen Kolba (July), Lola Zybura (September), Candace Guldeman (October), Womenade at Cypress Ridge (December)
Through our partner agencies we funded over 500 requests for urgent or emergency needs in our community
Our partner agencies worked tirelessly throughout the year to provide emergency and immediate assistance to individuals and families struggling with the issues associated with poverty and low income, housing challenges, illness, mental health issues, death, transportation, hunger and so much more.
In April we held our fourth annual raffle
You spent over $70,000 and hours for our drives for: Toiletries (April), Teachers’ School Supplies (August), food for Thanksgiving baskets for 185 families, food for the School Winter Break baskets for 110 families
We added five new partner agencies – Pregnancy and Parenting, Lumina Alliance, C.A.R.E4Paws, People’s Self Help Housing, Lucia Mar Adult Education
You volunteered at the monthly food distributions at the Nipomo Elementary School for over 350 families a month (over 18,000 people in the year)
You provided over $20,000 of weekly critical weekend food bags for students who don’t have sufficient food to eat over the weekends at the 3 middle schools, 6 elementary schools and started a food pantry at Lopez High School
We held 12 monthly food distributions at the Nipomo Elementary School reaching 4,200 families and over 21,000 people
Continued a monthly Laundry Pop-Up project to pay for 3 loads of laundry for individuals at various Laundromats in the 5 cities and in December added a second monthly Laundry Pop-Up and paid for over 600 loads of laundry
We received a number of grants including the County Supervisors, St. Barnabas Church, Nipomo Rotary and the King David Lodge Masons. We also received and met a matching grant for $7,000, and a large donation to buy a huge number of Christmas gifts for children in South SLO County.
In 2024 you donated over $130,000 to meet urgent and emergency financial needs
A donor donated nearly 1,000 books to the Pacific View Academy
South SLO County Thanksgiving basket project made the local news.
